Said to be the oldest and the head chief of all Esus, always distributing tasks and giving directions. Olofi gave him the responsanbility of openening and closing the doors to the cementaries; making him a powerful ally of the Eggungun. He is also considered the “trust and security” of Ifa.

Eshu Ananaki: Eshu Ananaki is kind of the Eshu of the past. He reminds us that we are what we are because we are standing on the shoulders of those who came before us. Eshu Ananaki encourages us to remember the lessons taught to us by the Ancestors, and by the Orishas. It seems that in the West this path of Eshu is also called Eshu Aniki, a distinctly female aspect that is said to be the mother of all other Eshus, governing and dispensing their work. If Aniki is a totally different road after all, I will humbly stand corrected.
